Hydraulic Oil Return Filter Element Removal -- Continued.
WARNING
When running, the BMPM engine has hot metal surfaces that will burn flesh on contact. Shut
down engine and allow sufficient cooling before checks, services, or maintenance. Wear
gloves and additional protective clothing as required. Failure to comply may cause injury or
death to personnel.
Do not loosen or remove hydraulic oil reservoir fill cap when hydraulic oil is hot. Failure to
comply may cause injury or death to personnel.
NOTE
Hydraulic oil reservoir fill cap is under spring pressure. Use care when removing reservoir fill cap.
3. Remove three wing nuts (Figure 2, Item 2) and flat washers (Figure 2, Item 3) from top of reservoir fill neck
(Figure 2, Item 8) while applying downward pressure to reservoir fill cap (Figure 2, Item 1), and remove
reservoir fill cap from top of reservoir fill neck.
4. Remove spring (Figure 2, Item 5) from top of return filter element (Figure 2, Item 6).
