NOTE
This
procedure
applies
to
replacement of both the left and right
hopper lift cylinders. Illustrations
show the left hopper lift cylinder
replacement. The procedures for the
right
hopper
lift
cylinder
are
identical except for placement of
plugs and hose fittings.
A.
REMOVE.
1.
RAISE HOPPER WING WITH OVERHEAD
HOIST.
The hopper wing weighs 875 lbs (397
kg). Ensure hoist and slings are in
good working condition and have
adequate lifting capacity to support
hopper wing. Failure to use adequate
lifting
equipment
may
result
in
serious injury or death.
a.
Attach two C-clamps (1) under top lip of hopper
wing (2), about 3 ft (1 m) apart.
b.
Connect chain assembly (3) between C-clamps.
c.
Use overhead hoist (4) to remove all slack from
lifting sling. Hoist should just start to lift hopper
wing enough to take the weight off of shoulder
screw (5).
d.
From inside of hopper, remove shoulder screw
(5) using hex head driver socket and socket
wrench adapter.
