HD STYLE CONNECTOR PLUG REPAIR
Figure 2. HD Style Connector Plug.
1. Loosen two screws (Figure 2, Item 2) and cable clamp (Figure 2, Item 8) on backshell (Figure 2, Item 7).
2. Remove backshell (Figure 2, Item 7) from connector (Figure 2, Item 6).
3. Pull back covering (Figure 2, Item 1) from connector (Figure 2, Item 6) and wire (Figure 2, Item 3).
4. Remove terminal (Figure 2, Item 5) and wire (Figure 2, Item 3) from connector (Figure 2, Item 6).
5. Cut and remove terminal (Figure 2, Item 5) from wire (Figure 2, Item 3).
6. Remove one-quarter of an inch (6 mm) of insulation (Figure 2, Item 4) from end of wire (Figure 2, Item 3).
NOTE
Ensure all strands of wire are inside terminal when installing.
7. Install terminal (Figure 2, Item 5) onto wire (Figure 2, Item 3), and crimp terminal.
8. Insert terminal (Figure 2, Item 5) into connector (Figure 2, Item 6).
9. Install backshell (Figure 2, Item 7) on connector (Figure 2, Item 6).
10. Install covering (Figure 2, Item 1) around wire (Figure 2, Item 3).
11. Tighten cable clamp (Figure 2, Item 8) and two screws (Figure 2, Item 2) on backshell (Figure 2, Item 7).
