Fuel Injector Solenoid Wiring and Pass-Through Connector Removal -- Continued.
2. Remove wire ties or clips (not shown) securing fuel injector solenoid wires (Figure 5, Item 3) to rocker arm
housing (Figure 6, Item 7).
3. Remove bolt (Figure 6, Item 4) from pass-through connector (Figure 6, Item 3).
4. Remove five bolts (Figure 6, Item 5) from rocker arm housing (Figure 6, Item 7).
5. Remove rocker arm housing (Figure 6, Item 7) from cylinder head (Figure 6, Item 6).
6. Remove pass-through connector (Figure 6, Item 3) and fuel injector solenoid wires (Figure 5, Item 3) from
rocker arm housing (Figure 6, Item 7).
END OF TASK
Fuel Injector Solenoid Wiring and Pass-Through Connector Installation
1. Install fuel injector solenoid wires (Figure 5, Item 3) into pass-through connector (Figure 6, Item 3) mounting
hole in rocker arm housing (Figure 6, Item 7).
2. Install bolt (Figure 6, Item 4) into pass-through connector and rocker arm housing (Figure 6, Item 7).
3. Install fuel injector solenoid wires (Figure 5, Item 3) into wire channel on bottom of rocker arm housing (Figure
6, Item 7).
CAUTION
Do not pinch fuel injector solenoid wires between rocker arm housing and cylinder head. Failure
to comply may cause damage to equipment.
4. Install rocker arm housing (Figure 6, Item 7) onto cylinder head (Figure 6, Item 6).
CAUTION
Fuel injector solenoid wires must be installed well clear of any potential contact with rocker arms.
Failure to comply may cause damage to equipment.
5. Install four fuel injector solenoid wires (Figure 5, Item 3) and nuts (Figure 6, Item 1) onto four solenoid (Figure
6, Item 2) studs, and torque to 13 in-lb (1.5 Nm).
CAUTION
Be sure fuel injector solenoid wires are secured away from rocker arms to avoid damage to wires.
Failure to comply may cause damage to equipment.
6. Secure four fuel injector solenoid wires (Figure 5, Item 3) to rocker arm housing (Figure 6, Item 7) using wire
ties or clips as needed.
7. Install five bolts (Figure 6, Item 5) through rocker arm housing (Figure 6, Item 7) and into cylinder head
(Figure 6, Item 6), and torque in alternating pattern to 212.4 in-lb (24 Nm).
