Fuel Injector Installation

CAUTION
When installing a new fuel injector, a new high-pressure connector must also be installed. Failure
to comply may cause damage to equipment.
1. Remove any dirt or debris from injector high-pressure connector port (Figure 4, Item 1).
NOTE
Proceed to step 4 if not installing new O-ring and injector seal onto fuel injector.
2. Install new O-ring (Figure 3, Item 4) on fuel injector (Figure 3, Item 3).
NOTE
Replacement injector seal must be 0.06 inches (in) (1.5 millimeters (mm)) thickness. Before
installation, measure injector seal using an outside micrometer.
3. Lubricate new injector seal (Figure 3, Item 5) with clean engine lubricating oil, and install onto fuel injector
(Figure 3, Item 3).
4. Install fuel injector (Figure 4, Item 2) with injector high-pressure connector port (Figure 4, Item 1) facing high-
pressure fuel connector inlet (not shown) into cylinder head.
