Rocker Housing Removal -- Continued.
NOTE
The five bolts securing the rocker housing are of varying lengths. Note the position of each rocker
housing bolt during removal to aid during installation.
1. Remove five rocker housing bolts (Figure 1, Item 1) from rocker housing (Figure 1, Item 2), and remove
rocker housing from cylinder head (Figure 1, Item 4).
2. Remove rocker housing gasket (Figure 1, Item 3) from rocker housing (Figure 1, Item 2). Discard rocker
housing gasket.

Rocker Housing Installation
CAUTION
Do not twist or stretch gasket during installation. Failure to comply may cause damage to
equipment.
1. Install new rocker housing gasket (Figure 1, Item 3) into rocker housing (Figure 1, Item 2).
NOTE
The five rocker housing bolts securing the rocker housing are of varying lengths. Install five
rocker housing bolts to correct positions using notes made during removal.
2. Install rocker housing (Figure 1, Item 2) onto cylinder head (Figure 1, Item 4), and install five rocker housing
bolts (Figure 1, Item 1) into rocker housing finger-tight.
3. Torque five rocker housing bolts (Figure 1, Item 1) to 17.7 foot-pounds (ft-lbs) (24 Newton meters (Nm)) in
alternating pattern.
