Overtightening willcause stripping of screw threads orshearing off of brass component.z.Screw straight adapter (2) into mating port ofbrake housing (23) until installed preformedpacking (40) meets packing seat. Carefullytighten adapter and install protective cap onexposed threads of straight adapter.aa.Install and carefully tighten plug (3), liquid sightindicator (38), and breather (39) with seal rings(4) in mating ports of brake housing (23).F.INSTALL.1.INSTALL BRAKE ON SPEED REDUCTIONGEARBOX.a.Lubricate o-ring (24) with petrolatum. Install o-ring on mating flange of installed internal gear(47).b.Align matchmarks on brake (10) and speedreduction gearbox (8). Seat brake on gearbox.Thread locking compound can causeeye damage.Wear safetygoggles/glasses when using. Avoidcontact with eyes. If compound contactseyes, flush eyes with water and getimmediate medical attention.c.Apply thread locking compound (Item 14,Appendix B) to threads of bolts (22).
