TM 5-3895-373-207.17.REPLACE DCA AND PRESSURE TRANSMITTERS - Continued.A.REMOVE - Continued.7.REMOVE TACHOMETER SIGNALGENERATOR AND ENGINE COOLANTTEMPERATURE TRANSDUCER.Do not remove the engine coolanttemperature transducer ortachometer signal generator whenthe engine is hot; steam and hotcoolant can escape and burnpersonnel.Use a clean, thick, waste cloth or likematerial to remove the engine coolanttemperature transducer. Avoid usinggloves. If hot water soaks throughgloves, personnel could be burned.a.Allow engine to cool before removingtachometer signal generator (55) andengine coolant temperature transducer(56).b.Tag and disconnect tachometer signalgenerator (55) from DCA harness.c.Use crowfoot wrench to unscrew swivelnut and remove tachometer signalgenerator (55).d.Disconnect engine coolant temperaturetransducer (56) from DCA harness.Remove tie wrap if necessary.e.Place machinery wiping towel belowengine coolant temperature transducer(56).f.Unscrew engine coolant temperaturetransducer (56). Hold pipe bushing (57)with backup wrench if necessary. Plugopen port of bushing with 1/4 in. pipeplug to prevent coolant leakage.g.Wipe up coolant spillage with cleaningcloths.
