Keep atleast a BC fire extinguisher withineasy reach when working with fuel oron a fuel system.Do not work on fuel system whenengine is hot; fuel can be ignited bya hot engine. Post signs that read"NO SMOKING WITHIN 50 FEET"when working with open fuel lines orfuel tanks.a.Allow engine to cool before removing fuelpressure transmitter (50) and fuel filterdifferential pressure switch (51).b.Tag and disconnect fuel pressuretransmitter (50) and fuel filter differentialpressure switch (51) from DCA harness.c.Place machinery wiping towel belowengine fuel filter and fuel pressuretransmitter and differential pressureswitch (50 and 51).d.Unscrew fuel pressure transmitter (50).Plug opening in fuel line tee to preventcontamination.e.Tag and remove fuel hose (52) fromswivel tee near fuel filter. Tag andremove fuel hose (53) from fuel filterdifferential pressure switch (51) elbow(54). Cap swivel tee and plug fuel hose toprevent contamination.f.Wipe up fuel spillage with cleaning cloths.Leave machinery wiping towels in place.g.Cut tie wraps and remove fuel filterdifferential pressure switch (51) with fuelhose (52) from pavingmachine.h.Clamp fuel filter differential pressureswitch (51) in bench vise.
