TM 5-3895-373-20A.HOISTING ENTIRE PAVING MACHINE(SINGLE POINT) - Continued.Paving machine weighsapproximately 21,400 lbs (9707 kg).Ensure that each cable/chain selectedis capable of lifting 10,000 lbs (4536kg).Do not lift entire paving machinewithout four cables/chains attached.Ensure that overhead lifting device iscapable of lifting the entire weight ofthe paving machine, 21,400 lbs (9707kg).Failure to follow all of the above canresult in paving machine fallingcausing personal injury or death.2.ATTACH LIFTING CABLES/CHAINS TOPAVING MACHINE.a.Using 2 ea, 24 ft (7,3 m) lifting cables/chains,attach lifting cables/chains to front lifting lugs (4).b.Attach other end of both lifting cables/chains tooverhead lifting device.c.Using 2 ea, 20 ft (6,1 m) lifting cables/chains,attach lifting cables/chains to rear lifting lugs (5).d.Attach other end of both lifting cables/chains tooverhead lifting device. Refer to lifting diagram.e.Attach ropes to right and left side pavingmachine tiedown provisions (6) for use as guideropes.Do not allow personnel under pavingmachine when paving machine issuspended off of the ground with anoverhead lifting device.
