Place straightedge (10) along bottom ofmain screed plate (11) and across inside ofextension screed plate (21) at D-D. Thestraightedge should be touching leadingand trailing edges of main screed plate andtrailing edge of extension screed plate.The leading edge of the extension screedplate should be 0.13 to 0.19 in. (3,2 to 4,8mm) above straightedge. Continue to nextstep.l. Place straightedge (10) along bottom ofmain screed plate (11) and across outsideof extension screed plate (22) at E-E. Thestraightedge should be touching the trailingedge of main screed plate and trailing edgeof extension screed plate. Leading edge ofmain screed plate and leading edge ofextension screed plate should be 0.13 to0.19 in. (3,2 to 4,8 mm) abovestraightedge. Start paving machine, fully retractextension screeds, and shut down pavingmachine per TM 5-3895-373-10.Reposition cribbing under screed.
