TM 5-3895-373-101.Remove strikeoff extension assembly using the following steps.(1)Remove hex head cap screw (45) and flat washer (44).(2)Remove self-locking nuts (40), flatwashers (39), and hex head cap screws(38). Remove strikeoff extensionassembly (37). Hardware will be usedduring installation of endgate assembly.Reinstall hardware onto strikeoff extensionassembly (37).m.Remove the bolt-on screed extension frameusing the following steps.WARNINGTo avoid personal injury, do notattempt to lift and remove the bolt-onscreed extension frame alone. Bolt-on screed extension frame weighsapproximately 57 lbs (25,9 kg). Use asecond person to help hold theextension frame during removal.Failure to do so may result in seriousinjury.(1)With the help of a second person tosupport the bolt-on screed extensionframe (34), remove hex head cap screws(35) and flat washers (36).(2)With one person holding the front end andanother holding the rear end, lift andremove bolt-on screed extension frame(34) from paving machine.CAUTIONDuring removal of screed extensionplate, ensure that the spacers andplate spacers around the studssecuring the screed extension plateto the frame are not allowed to moveor fall from the stud. If spacers orplate spacers are moved and notreturned to their initial position onthe screed plate, a screed alignmentis required.(3)With the help of a second person, removescreed extension plate (29) by removingself-locking nuts (27) and flat washers(28). Carefully lower and remove screedextension plate from extension screedframe (6).(4)Secure spacers (30 and 31) and platespacers (32) onto screed extension plate(29) with flat washers (28) and self-lockingnuts (27). When reinstalling screedextension plate, spacers and platespacers must be installed in the samelocations from which they were removed.2-92
