TM 5-3895-373-10j.Remove endgate assembly using the followingsteps.(1)Release endgate hand levers (2) andlower endgate (3).WARNINGTo avoid personal injury, do notattempt to lift and remove theendgate. Endgate weighsapproximately 126 lbs (57,1 kg). Usea second person to help removeendgate. Failure to do so may resultin serious injury.(2)Unhook chains (4) from endgate handlevers (2) and with the help of anotherperson allow endgate (3) to lower enoughfor endgate mounting tab (5) to clearextension screed frame (6) during removalof endgate and endgate support arm (7).(3)Remove hex nut (8), lockwasher (9), andflat washer (10) from cylinder extensionrod (11).(4)With the help of a second person, supportendgate support arm (7), remove self-locking nuts (12), flat washers (13), hexhead cap screws (14), and spacer (15).(5)Remove hex head cap screws (16) andflat washers (17) securing endgatesupport arm (7) to extension screed frame(6).WARNINGTo avoid personal injury, do notattempt to lift and remove endgatesupport arm and endgate alone.Endgate support arm and endgateweighs approximately 126 lbs (57,1kg). Use a second person to help liftand remove the endgate support armand endgate from the screedextension frame. Failure to do somay result in serious injury.(6)With the help of another person, liftendgate support arm (7) and endgate (3)from extension screed frame (6) and layflat on the ground, out of the way.(7)Replace flat washer (10), lockwasher (9),and hex nut (8) onto cylinder extension rod(11). Tighten hex nut.(8)Remove hex head cap screws (18),lockwashers (19), and remove cover plate(20).2-83
