Engine Hood Assembly Removal -- Continued.
WARNING
The engine hood assembly weighs 238 pounds (lb) (108 kilograms (kg)). A suitable lifting
device is necessary to lift component. Failure to comply may cause injury or death to
personnel.
Use lifting devices with caution. Do not stand or put arms, legs, or any body part under
hoisted load. Do not walk under overhead load. Do not permit load to swing while hoisted.
Failure to comply may cause injury or death to personnel.
CAUTION
Properly support the item being lifted. Failure to comply may cause damage to equipment.
1. Remove five bolts (Figure 1, Item 4), lock washers (Figure 1, Item 5), flat washers (Figure 1, Item 6), and nuts
(Figure 1, Item 8) from engine hood assembly (Figure 1, Item 2) and BMPM (Figure 1, Item 3). Discard lock
washers.
2. Remove three bolts (Figure 1, Item 1), lock washers (Figure 1, Item 10), flat washers (Figure 1, Item 9), and
engine hood assembly (Figure 1, Item 2) from BMPM (Figure 1, Item 7) with assistance. Discard lock
washers.

1. Install engine hood assembly (Figure 1, Item 2), three bolts (Figure 1, Item 1), new lock washers (Figure 1,
Item 10), and flat washers (Figure 1, Item 9) onto BMPM (Figure 1, Item 7) with assistance.
2. Install five bolts (Figure 1, Item 4), new lock washers (Figure 1, Item 5), flat washers (Figure 1, Item 6), and
nuts (Figure 1, Item 8) onto engine hood assembly (Figure 1, Item 2) and BMPM (Figure 1, Item 3).
