Turbocharger Plumbing Removal -- Continued.
CAUTION
A restricted oil drain line can create pressure in the turbocharger bearing housing, causing oil to
leak past the housing oil seal rings. Ensure oil drain line is not restricted or damaged in any way.
Failure to comply will cause damage to the equipment.
3. Remove two bolts (Figure 4, Item 7), oil drain line (Figure 4, Item 6), and oil drain line gasket (Figure 4, Item
8) from turbocharger. Discard oil drain line gasket.
4. Remove any residual gasket material from turbocharger and oil drain line (Figure 4, Item 6).
5. Remove oil drain line (Figure 4, Item 6) and two O-rings (Figure 4, Items 4 and 5) from engine block. Discard
O-rings.

Turbocharger Plumbing Installation
1. Install oil supply line (Figure 4, Item 1) and new O-ring (Figure 4, Item 2) to turbocharger.
2. Torque oil supply line (Figure 4, Item 1) to 248 in-lb (28 Nm).
3. Install oil supply line (Figure 4, Item 1) and new O-ring (Figure 4, Item 3) to oil filter head.
4. Torque oil supply line (Figure 4, Item 1) to 248 in-lb (28 Nm).
5. Install oil drain line (Figure 4, Item 6), new oil drain line gasket (Figure 4, Item 8), and two bolts (Figure 4, Item
7) to turbocharger finger-tight.
6. Torque two bolts (Figure 4, Item 7) to 204 inch-pounds (in-lb) (23 Nm).
7. Install new O-rings (Figure 4, Items 4 and 5) onto drain line (Figure 4, Item 6), and install drain line into engine
block.

3. Verify proper operation.
4. Dispose of all captured fluids and soiled rags IAW local SOP.
