Valve Cover Removal -- Continued.
NOTE
The valve cover gasket is reusable if not damaged. If gasket is removed, it must be replaced.
3. Remove valve cover gasket (Figure 1, Item 5) from gasket groove (Figure 2, Item 2) if required. Discard valve
cover gasket.

NOTE
The valve cover gasket is reusable if not damaged. If gasket was not removed, proceed to step 4.
1. Remove old gasket material, dirt, and debris from gasket groove (Figure 2, Item 2), bottom edge of valve
cover (Figure 2, Item 3) and top of rocker housing (Figure 1, Item 4).
2. Apply a thin coat of clean engine oil to new valve cover gasket (Figure 2, Item 1).
3. Install new valve cover gasket (Figure 2, Item 1) into gasket groove (Figure 2, Item 2) on bottom edge of valve
cover (Figure 2, Item 3).
4. Install valve cover (Figure 1, Item 6) onto rocker housing (Figure 1, Item 4).
5. Install four isolators (Figure 1, Item 2) and flange nuts (Figure 1, Item 1) onto standoffs (Figure 1, Item 3).
6. Torque four flange nuts (Figure 1, Item 1) to 212 inch-pounds (in-lbs) (24 Newton meters (Nm)).
