Drain Hydraulic Oil Tank -- Continued.
3. Install hydraulic oil drain hose (Figure 1, Item 9) onto drain outlet (Figure 1, Item 8).
4. Place drain pan under hydraulic oil drain hose (Figure 1, Item 9).
5. Open drain valve (Figure 1, Item 7) and completely drain oil into drain pan.
6. Close drain valve (Figure 1, Item 7) when complete.
7. Remove hydraulic oil drain hose (Figure 1, Item 9) from drain outlet (Figure 1, Item 8).
END OF TASK
Fill Hydraulic Oil Tank
1. Remove three wing nuts (Figure 1, Item 2), flat washers (Figure 1, Item 3), and hydraulic fill cover (Figure 1,
Item 1) from fill tube (Figure 1, Item 6).
2. Remove O-ring (Figure 1, Item 4) and spring (Figure 1, Item 5) from fill tube (Figure 1, Item 6). Discard O-ring.
3. Ensure drain valve (Figure 1, Item 7) is closed.
CAUTION
Hydraulic pumps should not be started when there is no hydraulic oil in the pumps. Whenever
installing new hydraulic pumps or hoses, the maintainer should fill hydraulic oil through the
charge port until the hydraulic pumps are sufficiently primed with hydraulic oil. Failure to comply
may cause damage to equipment.
4. Fill hydraulic oil through hydraulic oil charge port until the hydraulic tank begins to fill from hydraulic tank
hoses (perform Fill Hydraulic Oil Through Charge Port task).
5. Fill hydraulic oil tank with hydraulic oil through fill tube (Figure 1, Item 6). Refer to site gauge for hydraulic oil
level.
6. Install spring (Figure 1, Item 5) and new O-ring (Figure 1, Item 4) onto fill tube (Figure 1, Item 6).
7. Install three wing nuts (Figure 1, Item 2), flat washers (Figure 1, Item 3), and hydraulic fill cover (Figure 1,
Item 1) onto fill tube (Figure 1, Item 6).
