To avoid seriousinjury or death:Always wear safety glasses/gogglesat all times.Keep fuel away from open flame orany spark (ignition source).Keep at least a B-C fire extinguisherwithin easy reach when working withfuel or on a fuel system.Post signs that read "NO SMOKINGWITHIN 50 FEET" when working withopen fuel lines or fuel tanks.c.Unscrew fuel tank cap (29) and drape cap overside of fuel tank (30).d.With the help of another person, move fuel tankinto engine compartment.e.Attach two sling straps around fuel tank (30).Ensure sling straps are evenly spaced.Fuel tank weighs approximately 75lbs (34 kg). To avoid personnelinjury, ensure all sling straps are ingood condition and are of correctlifting capacity. Ensure overheadhoist is in good condition and hooksare positioned correctly.Personnel shall stay clear of objectsbeing lifted during hoist operations.Do not work on objects suspendedby a hoist. A swinging or shiftingload may cause injury or death topersonnel.f.Connect overhead hoist to sling straps.g.Lift fuel tank (30) out of engine compartment.Set fuel tank down in a clean shop area.GO TO NEXT PAGE2-309
