Valve is open when valvehandle is straight up.g.Ensure screed burner fuel shutoff valve is openby turning the valve handle to the 12 o’clockposition.h.Place the screed fuel pump switch on the leftscreed control panel to the up, ON, position.WARNINGDo not leave screed unattended whileburners are in operation. If burnersare extinguished and fuel pump isrunning, the hot screed plate willaccumulate flammable diesel fuel. Ifflame does go out, immediately shutoff the fuel supply. Raise screed todrain off excess fuel. Ventilate thearea before relighting.CAUTIONExcessive heat can cause damage toscreed plates. Do not operateburners longer than 15 minutes.Trailing edge of main and extensionscreed plates must be free of materialbuildup. Material buildup on thescreed plate can block proper burnerventilation, cause excessive smokegeneration, and improper heating ofscreed plates.i.Ignite left extension and left main screed burnersseparately from right extension and right mainscreed burners. Hold the left extension screedand main screed burner control switches in thedown, preheat position.2-41
