Auger Lift Hydraulic Cylinder Removal -- Continued.
CAUTION
Tag and label hydraulic hoses and hydraulic fittings prior to removal. Hydraulic hoses must be
installed correctly for proper operation. Failure to comply may cause damage to equipment.
3. Disconnect two hydraulic hoses (Figure 2, Item 9) from hydraulic fittings (Figure 2, Item 10), and cap/plug
hydraulic hoses and hydraulic fittings.
4. Remove cotter pin (Figure 2, Item 1) from clevis pin (Figure 2, Item 2). Discard cotter pin.
WARNING
Support components when removing/installing the attaching hardware or when component may
fall. Failure to comply may cause injury or death to personnel and damage to equipment.
5. Remove clevis pin (Figure 2, Item 2) from hydraulic cylinder (Figure 2, Item 7).
6. Remove cotter pin (Figure 2, Item 8) from clevis pin (Figure 2, Item 6). Discard cotter pin.
7. Remove clevis pin (Figure 2, Item 6) and hydraulic cylinder (Figure 2, Item 7) from upper mounting bracket
(Figure 2, Item 3) and lower mounting bracket (Figure 2, Item 4).
END OF TASK
Auger Lift Hydraulic Cylinder Inspection
1. Inspect hydraulic fittings (Figure 2, Item 10) for cracks, stripped threading, wear or deformities. Replace tee
fittings if damaged.
2. Inspect hydraulic cylinder (Figure 2, Item 7) for significant scoring and pitting on cylinder shaft. Replace
hydraulic cylinder (Figure 2, Item 7) if damage is found.
3. Inspect hydraulic cylinder (Figure 2, Item 7) for evidence of leaking seals. If leaking seals are found, replace
hydraulic cylinder.
END OF TASK
Auger Lift Hydraulic Cylinder Installation
1. Install hydraulic cylinder (Figure 2, Item 7) and clevis pin (Figure 2, Item 2) onto upper mounting bracket
(Figure 2, Item 3).
2. Install new cotter pin (Figure 2, Item 1) to clevis pin (Figure 2, Item 2).
3. Install hydraulic cylinder (Figure 2, Item 7) and clevis pin (Figure 2, Item 6) to lower mounting bracket (Figure
2, Item 4) on auger main support bar (Figure 2, Item 5).
4. Install new cotter pin (Figure 2, Item 8) to clevis pin (Figure 2, Item 6).
5. Remove caps/plugs from hydraulic hoses (Figure 2, Item 9) and hydraulic fittings (Figure 2, Item 10), and
connect two hydraulic hoses to hydraulic fittings.
