NATO Slave Receptacle Removal -- Continued.
WARNING
NATO slave receptacle is electrically live at all times and is not protected by a fuse. This circuit is
only dead when the batteries are fully disconnected. Disconnect both batteries before performing
maintenance on the slave receptacle. Failure to comply may cause injury or death to personnel.
CAUTION
Tag and label all electric cables and connections prior to removal. Electric cables must be
installed correctly for proper operation. Failure to comply will cause damage to equipment.
NOTE
Before removing the NATO slave receptacle, note orientation of the positive (+) and negative (-)
connections of the receptacle and color of cables attached to each. Positive (+) and negative (-)
symbols are stamped on the NATO slave receptacle terminal ends.
2. Remove bolt (Figure 2, Item 9), lock washer (Figure 2, Item 8), and negative (-) cable (Figure 2, Item 7) from
negative (-) terminal (Figure 2, Item 6) of NATO slave receptacle on hydraulic cover vent (Figure 2, Item 1).
Discard lock washer.
3. Remove bolt (Figure 2, Item 4), lock washer (Figure 2, Item 3), and positive (+) cable (Figure 2, Item 2) from
positive (+) terminal (Figure 2, Item 5) of NATO slave receptacle on hydraulic cover vent (Figure 2, Item 1).
Discard lock washer.

4. Cover the ends of each cable with electrical tape.
