Exhaust Stack Removal -- Continued.
WARNING
Rear engine covers do not stay open unaided. They must be held open or supported while
working inside engine hood assembly from operator platform. Failure to comply may cause injury
or death to personnel.
1. Open engine cover.
2. Remove flexible pipe (Figure 1, Item 3) and worm clamp (Figure 1, Item 2) from exhaust stack (Figure 1, Item
1).
3. Remove six bolts (Figure 1, Item 6), lock washers (Figure 1, Item 5), and exhaust stack (Figure 1, Item 1)
from engine hood assembly (Figure 1, Item 4). Discard lock washers.

Exhaust Stack Installation
1. Install exhaust stack (Figure 1, Item 1), six bolts (Figure 1, Item 6), and new lock washers (Figure 1, Item 5)
onto engine hood assembly (Figure 1, Item 4).
2. Install flexible pipe (Figure 1, Item 3) onto exhaust stack (Figure 1, Item 1).
3. Secure worm clamp (Figure 1, Item 2) over joint between exhaust stack (Figure 1, Item 1) and flexible pipe
(Figure 1, Item 3).
4. Close engine access panel.

FOLLOW-ON TASK
1. Set BATTERY DISCONNECT switch ON (TM 5-3895-385-10).
2. Verify proper operation.
