Water Pump Installation
WARNING
Dry cleaning solvent is combustible and toxic to eyes, skin, and respiratory tract. Skin and eye
protection is required. Avoid repeated or prolonged contact. Work in ventilated area only.
Failure to comply may cause injury or death to personnel.
CAUTION
Do not let dirt or debris fall into the cooling system. Failure to comply may cause damage to
equipment.
1. Clean mounting surface of cylinder block (Figure 1, Item 1) with dry cleaning solvent and wiping rags.
2. Install new gasket (Figure 1, Item 4) into seal seat on water pump (Figure 1, Item 3).
3. Install water pump (Figure 1, Item 3) and two bolts (Figure 1, Item 2) onto cylinder block (Figure 1, Item 1)
finger-tight.
4. Torque bolts (Figure 1, Item 2) to 216 inch-pounds (in-lb) (24 Newton meters (Nm)).
END OF TASK
FOLLOW-ON TASK
1. Install battery-charging alternator belt (WP 0349).
2. Install cooling fan assembly (WP 0368).
3. Install radiator cooler (WP 0364).
4. Verify proper operation, and check for fluid leaks.
5. Dispose of spilled fluids and soiled rags In Accordance With (IAW) local Standard Operating Procedure
(SOP).
