Service Oil Pressure Regulator
NOTE
If any debris has gone through the engine, or if troubleshooting a lubricating oil pressure
problem, remove and inspect the lubricating oil pressure regulator located in the oil cooler
head.
Under normal conditions, oil pressure regulator plunger can be removed and installed without
removing the oil cooler assembly from the engine. The plunger can be removed by inserting
finger into plunger bore until snug and then pulling up. If plunger cannot be removed in this
manner, plunger is probably stuck and will require removal of the oil cooler head housing to
extract the plunger.
1. Clean area around pressure regulator with solvent to prevent dirt and debris from entering the lubrication
system.
