Screed Lift Hydraulic Cylinder Removal -- Continued.
1. Remove bolt (Figure 1, Item 1) and flat washer (Figure 1, Item 2) from Bituminous Material Paving Machine
(BMPM) (Figure 1, Item 3).
2. Remove bolt (Figure 1, Item 5), spacer (Figure 1, Item 6), flat washer (Figure 1, Item 8), locking nut (Figure 1,
Item 9) and screed lift hydraulic cylinder (Figure 1, Item 4) from screed arm (Figure 1, Item 7). Discard locking
nut.

Screed Lift Hydraulic Cylinder Inspection
1. Inspect hydraulic fittings on screed lift hydraulic cylinder (Figure 1, Item 4) for cracks, stripped threading, wear
or deformities. Replace tee fittings if damaged.
2. Inspect hydraulic cylinder (Figure 1, Item 4) for significant scoring and pitting on cylinder shaft. Replace
hydraulic cylinder if damage is found.
3. Inspect hydraulic cylinder (Figure 1, Item 4) for evidence of leaking seals. If leaking seals are found, replace
hydraulic cylinder

Screed Lift Hydraulic Cylinder Installation
1. Install bolt (Figure 1, Item 5), spacer (Figure 1, Item 6), flat washer (Figure 1, Item 8), new locking nut (Figure
1, Item 9), and screed lift hydraulic cylinder (Figure 1, Item 4) onto screed arm (Figure 1, Item 7).
2. Install bolt (Figure 1, Item 1) and flat washer (Figure 1, Item 2) onto BMPM (Figure 1, Item 3).

FOLLOW-ON TASK
1. Install screed lift hydraulic cylinder hoses (WP 0282).
2. Verify proper operation, and check for fluid leaks.
3. Dispose of hydraulic oil and wiping rags In Accordance With (IAW) local Standard Operating Procedure
(SOP).
