Tow Point Hydraulic Cylinder Removal -- Continued.
CAUTION
Tag and label hydraulic hoses prior to removal. Hydraulic hoses must be installed correctly for
proper operation. Failure to comply may cause damage to equipment.
1. Disconnect hydraulic hoses (Figure1, Item 4) from elbow fittings (Figure 1, Item 5), and remove elbow fittings
(Figure 1, Item 5).
2. Cap/plug hydraulic hoses (Figure 1, Item 4) and hydraulic fittings on tow point hydraulic cylinder (Figure 1,
Item 2).
3. Remove two cotter pins (Figure 1, Item 3), retaining pins (Figure 1, Item 7), and tow point hydraulic cylinder
(Figure 1, Item 2) from screed arm (Figure 1, Item 6) and pulley arm assembly mount (Figure 1, Item 1).
Discard cotter pins.
END OF TASK
Tow Point Hydraulic Cylinder Inspection
1. Inspect hydraulic fittings on tow point hydraulic cylinder (Figure 1, Item 2) for cracks, stripped threading, wear
or deformities. Replace tee fittings if damaged.
2. Inspect hydraulic cylinder (Figure 1, Item 2) for significant scoring and pitting on cylinder shaft. Replace
hydraulic cylinder if damage is found.
3. Inspect hydraulic cylinder (Figure 1, Item 2) for evidence of leaking seals. If leaking seals are found, replace
hydraulic cylinder.
END OF TASK
Tow Point Hydraulic Cylinder Installation
1. Install two new cotter pins (Figure 1, Item 3), retaining pins (Figure 1, Item 7), and tow point hydraulic cylinder
(Figure 1, Item 2) onto screed arm (Figure 1, Item 6) and pulley arm assembly mount (Figure 1, Item 1).
2. Remove caps/plugs from hydraulic hoses (Figure 1, Item 4) and hydraulic fittings on tow point hydraulic
cylinder (Figure 1, Item 2).
3. Install elbow fittings (Figure 1, Item 5), and connect hydraulic hoses (Figure1, Item 4).
