TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE
CAUTION
All active fault codes must be investigated prior to replacing the engine Electronic Control Module
(ECM). Failure to comply may cause damage to equipment.
NOTE
Some sensors share harness wiring. Some malfunctions in certain sensors, or in the engine
ECM, may cause false errors to display because of this shared wiring. For this malfunction
(SPN#190, FMI#2), the harness wiring is shared by the intake manifold pressure/temperature
sensor, the camshaft position sensor, the water-in-fuel sensor, and the rail fuel pressure sensor.

MALFUNCTION
TEST OR INSPECTION
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1. Multiple fault codes.
1. Install fuse box (WP 0277, Vol
2).
2. Connect battery cables (WP
0357, Vol 2).
3. Turn keyless engine switch to
AUX position (TM 5-3895-385-
10), but do not start engine.
Wait 30 seconds.
4. Start engine (TM 5-3895-385-
10), and let it idle for 1 minute.
