NOTE
Some sensors share harness wiring. Malfunctions in certain sensors, or in the engine ECM, may
cause false errors to display because of this shared wiring. For this malfunction (SPN#177,
FMI#0), harness wiring is shared by the rail fuel pressure sensor, the camshaft position sensor,
the water-in-fuel sensor, and the intake manifold pressure/temperature sensor.

MALFUNCTION
TEST OR INSPECTION
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1. Multiple errors displayed.
1. Install fuse box (WP 0277, Vol
2).
2. Connect battery cables (WP
0357, Vol 2).
3. Start engine (TM 5-3895-385-10)
and idle for 1 minute.
4. Check active engine faults
1. If SPN#1347, FMI#4,
screen for multiple fault codes.
SPN#1347, FMI#3,
SPN#627, FMI#2, or
SPN#633, FMI#31 fault code
is displayed, turn keyless
engine switch to OFF (TM 5-
3895-385-10), and proceed to
appropriate troubleshooting
procedures.
2. If other faults are not
displayed, turn keyless
engine switch to OFF (TM 5-
3895-385-10), and proceed to
next malfunction.
2. Fuel pressure sensor fault.
1. Disconnect the engine ECM
wiring harness fuel pressure
sensor connector W25 C6 from
fuel pressure sensor (WP 0451,
Vol 3, Figure 45).
2. Inspect the fuel pressure sensor
1. If damaged, replace the fuel
for damage or leaking.
pressure sensor (WP 0337,
Vol 2).
2. If not damaged, proceed to
next test.
3. Inspect the engine ECM wiring
1. If damaged, replace the
harness fuel pressure sensor
