TM 5-3895-373-342.30REPLACE/REPAIR PROPULSION PUMP - Continued.A.REMOVE Continued.3.REMOVE PROPULSION PUMP.Propulsion pump weighs 75 lbs (34 kg).Place cribbing beneath pump prior toremoval from pump drive gearbox.Damage to equipment and personnelinjury may result from unexpectedmovement of propulsion pump.NOTEProcedures for removing the left andright propulsion pumps are identical.The right propulsion pump is illustratedin this procedure; perform the samesteps for the left propulsion pump.a.Remove lower hex head cap screw (19),lockwasher (20), and flat washer (21) securingpropulsion pump to pump drive gearbox.Discard lockwasher.b.Place cribbing beneath propulsion pump (22).c.Remove upper hex head cap screw (19),lockwasher (20), and flat washer (21) securingpropulsion pump to pump drive gearbox.Discard lockwasher.d.Pull propulsion pump (22) from pump drivegearbox (23) and position onto cribbing.e.With the help of another person, lift propulsionpump from cribbing and out of enginecompartment.f.Remove gasket (24) from pump drive gearbox(23). Discard gasket.NOTEAdapter gear sleeve may come out of pumpdrive gearbox with propulsion pump. Ifadapter gear sleeve is removed, replaceadapter gear sleeve " into pump drivegearbox.g.Place propulsion pump on a clean work surface.GO TO NEXT PAGE2-398
