Cutoff Hydraulic Cylinder Removal -- Continued
CAUTION
Tag and label hydraulic hoses and fittings prior to removal. Hydraulic hoses must be installed
correctly for proper operation. Failure to comply may cause damage to equipment.
1. Disconnect two hydraulic hoses (Figure 1, Item 4) from hydraulic fittings (Figure 1, Items 5 and 8), and
cap/plug hydraulic hoses and hydraulic fittings.
2. Remove cotter pin (Figure 1, Item 7) from cylinder pin (Figure 1, Item 10). Discard cotter pin.
3. Remove cylinder pin (Figure 1, Item 10) from cutoff mounting bracket (Figure 1, Item 9) and hydraulic cylinder
(Figure 1, Item 6).
4. Remove bolt (Figure 1, Item 1) and lock nut (Figure 1, Item 11) from cylinder pin (Figure 1, Item 2). Discard
lock nut.
5. Remove cylinder pin (Figure 1, Item 2) and hydraulic cylinder (Figure 1, Item 6) from upper cylinder mount
(Figure 1, Item 3).
END OF TASK
Cutoff Hydraulic Cylinder Inspection
1. Inspect hydraulic fittings (Figure 1, Items 5 and 8) for cracks, stripped threading, wear or deformities. Replace
tee fittings if damaged.
2. Inspect hydraulic cylinder (Figure 1, Item 6) for significant scoring and pitting on cylinder shaft. Replace
hydraulic cylinder if damage is found.
3. Inspect hydraulic cylinder (Figure 1, Item 6) for evidence of leaking seals. If leaking seals are found, replace
hydraulic cylinder.
END OF TASK
Cutoff Hydraulic Cylinder Installation
1. Install hydraulic cylinder (Figure 1, Item 6) and cylinder pin (Figure 1, Item 2) into upper cylinder mount
(Figure 1, Item 3).
2. Install bolt (Figure 1, Item 1) and new lock nut (Figure 1, Item 11) into cylinder pin (Figure 1, Item 2).
3. Install cylinder pin (Figure 1, Item 10) into cutoff mounting bracket (Figure 1, Item 9) and hydraulic cylinder
(Figure 1, Item 6).
4. Install new cotter pin (Figure 1, Item 7) through cylinder pin (Figure 1, Item 10).
5. Remove caps/plugs from hydraulic hoses (Figure 1, Item 4) and hydraulic fittings (Figure 1, Items 5 and 8)
and connect two hydraulic hoses (Figure 1, Item 4) to hydraulic fittings (Figure 1, Items 5 and 8).
