SECONDARY FUEL TANK REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
Secondary Fuel Tank Removal
CAUTION
Tag and label fuel lines prior to removal. Fuel lines must be installed correctly for proper
operation. Failure to comply may cause damage to equipment.
NOTE
Some fuel will leak out of hoses and connection points when disconnecting components. Have a
drain pan and rags in place to capture fuel.
1. Disconnect fuel vent crossover hose (Figure 1, Item 1) from connection point (Figure 1, Item 2).
2. Siphon all fuel from primary fuel tank and secondary fuel tank (Figure 1, Item 3).
3. Disconnect fuel crossover hose (Figure 1, Item 8) and fuel vent crossover hose (Figure 1, Item 1) from
connection points (Figure 1, Items 2 and 6), and cap/plug fuel crossover hose, fuel vent crossover hose, and
connection points.
4. Remove bolt (Figure 1, Item 11) and lock washer (Figure 1, Item 10) from bracket (Figure 1, Item 9). Discard
lock washer.
5. Remove bolt (Figure 1, Item 4) and lock washer (Figure 1, Item 5) from bracket (Figure 1, Item 7). Discard
lock washer.
WARNING
The secondary fuel tank weighs 60 pounds (lb) (27 kilograms (kg)). Two personnel or a suitable
lifting device is necessary to lift component. Failure to comply may cause injury or death to
personnel.
CAUTION
Properly support the item being lifted. Failure to comply may cause damage to equipment.
6. Remove secondary fuel tank (Figure 1, Item 3) from Bituminous Material Paving Machine (BMPM) with
assistance.
