Fuel Rail Removal -- Continued.
NOTE
Do not remove the fuel rail pressure sensor unless it or the fuel rail is being replaced. The fuel rail
pressure sensor must be replaced if it is removed from the fuel rail.
Place wiping rag under fuel rail to catch any spilled fuel when line is removed.
9. Remove fuel pressure sensor (Figure 2, Item 4) from fuel rail (Figure 2, Item 3).
10. Remove two bolts (Figure 2, Item 1) and fuel rail (Figure 2, Item 3) from engine block (Figure 2, Item 5).
END OF TASK
Fuel Rail Installation
NOTE
Do not remove the fuel rail pressure sensor unless it or the fuel rail is being replaced. The fuel rail
pressure sensor must be replaced if it is removed from the fuel rail.
1. Install fuel pressure sensor (Figure 2, Item 4) into fuel rail (Figure 2, Item 3).
2. Install fuel rail (Figure 2, Item 3) and two bolts (Figure 2, Item 1) onto engine block (Figure 2, Item 5) finger-
tight.
3. Torque two bolts (Figure 2, Item 1) to 212 inch-pounds (in-lb) (24 Newton meters (Nm)).
4. Remove caps/plugs from fuel injector lines (Figure 2, Item 2) and fuel rail (Figure 2, Item 3) ports.
5. Install fuel drain line (Figure 2, Item 8) to fuel rail fitting (Figure 2, Item 9).
6. Install four fuel injector lines (Figure 2, Item 2) to fuel rail (Figure 2, Item 3), and torque to 28 foot-pounds (ft-
lb) (38 Nm).
7. Install fuel supply line (Figure 2, Item 6) to fuel rail (Figure 2, Item 3), and torque to 22 ft-lb (30 Nm).
8. Install fuel supply line (Figure 2, Item 6) to engine block (Figure 2, Item 5) using stud (Figure 2, Item 7).
