Engine ECM Removal -- Continued.
CAUTION
Tag and label electrical cables, wires, and connectors prior to removal. Electrical cables, wires,
and connectors must be installed correctly for proper operation. Failure to comply may cause
damage to equipment.
3. Remove W16 J3 (Figure 2, Item 11) from engine ECM (Figure 2, Item 2).
4. Loosen screw (Figure 2, Item 5) and remove W16 J2 (Figure 2, Item 4) from engine ECM (Figure 2, Item 2).
5. Loosen screw (Figure 2, Item 7) and remove W25 C1 (Figure 2, Item 6) from engine ECM (Figure 2, Item 2).
6. Remove lower left mounting bolt (Figure 2, Item 12) and grounding strap (Figure 2, Item 13) from engine ECM
(Figure 2, Item 2).
7. Remove two nuts (Figure 2, Item 10), loop clamps (Figure 2, Item 9), and mounting studs (Figure 2, Item 8)
from bottom-right and right-side mounting holes on engine ECM (Figure 2, Item 2).
8. Remove two upper left and right mounting bolts (Figure 2, Item 3) and remove engine ECM (Figure 2, Item 2)
from engine ECM mounting bracket (Figure 2, Item 1).
END OF TASK
Engine ECM Installation
NOTE
The surface of the engine ECM that contacts the ECM mounting bracket must remain clean to
allow maximum ECM efficiency.
1. Install engine ECM (Figure 2, Item 2) onto engine ECM mounting bracket (Figure 2, Item 1).
2. Install upper left and right mounting bolts (Figure 2, Item 3) onto engine ECM (Figure 2, Item 2) and engine
ECM mounting bracket (Figure 2, Item 1).
3. Install grounding strap (Figure 2, Item 13) and lower left mounting bolt (Figure 2, Item 12) onto engine ECM
(Figure 2, Item 2) and engine ECM mounting bracket (Figure 2, Item 1).
4. Torque mounting bolts (Figure 2, Items 3 and 12) to 212 inch-pounds (in-lb) (24 Newton meters (Nm)).
5. Install two mounting studs (Figure 2, Item 8), loop clamps (Figure 2, Item 9), and nuts (Figure 2, Item 10) into
bottom right and right side mounting holes on engine ECM (Figure 2, Item 2).
6. Torque nuts (Figure 2, Item 10) to 212 in-lb (24 Nm).
CAUTION
Ensure engine ECM and harness connectors are free of dust and debris and that connector pins
are not bent. Failure to comply will cause damage to equipment.
7. Install W25 C1 (Figure 2, Item 6) onto engine ECM (Figure 2, Item 2) connector and tighten screw (Figure 2,
Item 7).
8. Install W16 J2 (Figure 2, Item 4) onto engine ECM (Figure 2, Item 2) connector and tighten screw (Figure 2,
Item 5).
9. Install W16 J3 (Figure 2, Item 11) onto engine ECM (Figure 2, Item 2) connector.
