Power Crown Pitch Roller Chain Removal -- Continued.
WARNING
Support components when removing/installing the attaching hardware or when component may
fall. Failure to comply may cause injury or death to personnel and damage to equipment.
1. Measure and record the amount of thread (Figure 1, Item 5) visible on each thread post to be used later for
installation.
2. Remove four bolts (Figure 1, Item 1), lock washers (Figure 1, Item 2), flat washers (Figure 1, Item 3),
bushings (Figure 1, Item 4), crown and valley shaft (Figure 1, Item 12), and front turnbuckle (Figure 1, Item 8)
from screed mounting brackets (Figure 1, Item 7) without turning thread posts (Figure 1, Item 5). Discard lock
washers.
3. Remove three bolts (Figure 1, Item 11), lock washers (Figure 1, Item 10), and flat washers (Figure 1, Item 9)
from crown and valley shaft (Figure 1, Item 12). Discard lock washers.
4. Remove power crown pitch roller chain (Figure 1, Item 6) from front turnbuckle (Figure 1, Item 8).

Power Crown Pitch Roller Chain Installation
1. Install power crown pitch roller chain (Figure 1, Item 6) onto front turnbuckle (Figure 1, Item 8) and crown and
valley shaft (Figure 1, Item 12).
2. Ensure the amount of thread (Figure 1, Item 5) visible on each thread post matches the amount measured in
removal.
3. Install three bolts (Figure 1, Item 11), new lock washers (Figure 1, Item 10), and flat washers (Figure 1, Item
9) onto crown and valley shaft (Figure 1, Item 12).
4. Install four bolts (Figure 1, Item 1), new lock washers (Figure 1, Item 2), flat washers (Figure 1, Item 3),
bushings (Figure 1, Item 4), crown and valley shaft (Figure 1, Item 12), and front turnbuckle (Figure 1, Item 8)
onto screed mounting brackets (Figure 1, Item 7).
