Screed Main Wear Plate Installation -- Continued.
1. Install four screed heater elements onto screed main wear plate (Figure 5, Item 2) (WP 0242).
WARNING
The screed main wear plate weighs 361 lb (164 kg). Use a suitable lifting device. Failure to
comply may cause injury or death to personnel.
CAUTION
Properly support the item being lifted. Failure to comply may cause damage to equipment.
2. Position screed main wear plate (Figure 5, Item 2) under screed (Figure 5, Item 1) with assistance.
3. Set BATTERY DISCONNECT switch to ON (TM 5-3895-385-10).
4. Start BMPM engine (TM 5-3895-385-10).
WARNING
There are many points on the BMPM where personnel could be injured by moving parts. Care
should be taken to avoid any pinch points when performing maintenance. Failure to comply may
cause injury or death to personnel.
5. Lower screed until slightly touching screed main wear plate (Figure 5, Item 2).
