Screed Extension Removal -- Continued.
CAUTION
Tag and label hydraulic hoses prior to removal. Hydraulic hoses must be installed correctly for
proper operation. Failure to comply may cause damage to equipment.
NOTE
Some hydraulic oil will leak out of hoses and hydraulic fittings when disconnecting or connecting
components. Have a drain pan and rags in place to capture hydraulic oil.
9. Disconnect two hydraulic hoses (Figure 3, Item 11) from top of screed extension, and cap/plug hydraulic
hoses and hydraulic fittings on screed extension.
10. Remove nine bolts (Figure 3, Item 5), 18 lock washers (Figure 3, Item 6), and upper screed slide rail bar
(Figure 3, Item 2) from screed extension slide plate (Figure 3, Item 1). Discard lock washers.
11. Remove nine bolts (Figure 3, Item 4), 18 lock washers (Figure 3, Item 3), and lower screed slide rail bar
(Figure 3, Item 7) from screed extension slide plate (Figure 3, Item 1). Discard lock washers.
WARNING
The screed extension weighs 443 pounds (lb) (201 kilograms (kg)). Use a suitable lifting device.
Failure to comply may cause injury or death to personnel.
CAUTION
Properly support the item being lifted. Failure to comply may cause damage to equipment.
12. Remove screed extension (Figure 3, Item 12) from screed with assistance.
