TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURES
CAUTION
All active fault codes must be investigated prior to replacing the engine Electronic Control Module
(ECM). Failure to comply may cause damage to equipment.
NOTE
Some ECM wiring harness Supply and Return signal lines are shared by more than one ECM
sensor. Any problem affecting sensors that use shared lines can result in display of several
malfunctions (SPN and FMI codes) at the same time. ECM module problems that affect shared
Supply and Return lines can also produce several malfunction codes. For this malfunction
(SPN#108, FMI#3), the ECM harness Supply and Return lines are shared by the barometric
pressure sensor, oil pressure switch, and coolant temperature sensor.

MALFUNCTION
TEST OR INSPECTION
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1. Multiple fault codes.
1. Install fuse box (WP 0277, Vol
2).
2. Connect battery cables (WP
0357, Vol 2).
3. Turn keyless engine switch to
the AUX position (TM 5-3895-
385-10), but do not start engine.
Wait 30 seconds.
