TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURES
CAUTION
All active fault codes must be investigated prior to replacing the engine Electronic Control Module
(ECM). Failure to comply may cause damage to equipment.
NOTE
Some ECM wiring harness Supply and Return signal lines are shared by more than one ECM
sensor. Problems affecting ECM sensors that share lines can result in display of several
malfunctions (SPN and FMI codes) at the same time. ECM module problems that affect shared
lines can also produce several malfunction codes. For this malfunction (SPN#105, FMI#4), the
ECM harness Supply and Return lines are shared by the intake manifold pressure/temperature
sensor, the camshaft position sensor, the rail fuel pressure sensor, and the water-in-fuel sensor.
