immediately following the one they are currently troubleshooting. When "proceed to malfunction" is stated with a
numerical value, the maintainer is to skip over any malfunctions between the one they are currently
troubleshooting and the one they have been instructed to proceed to.
ENGINE SENSOR WIRE SHARING AND ERRORS CROSS REFERENCE
Some engine sensors share SUPPLY and RETURN harness wiring. Malfunctions in certain sensors, or in the
engine Electronic Control Module (ECM), may cause false errors to display because of this shared wiring
situation.
Table 1 lists the SUPPLY and RETURN wire sharing matrix for sensors connected to the engine ECM wiring
harness.
Table 2 lists the engine sensors, and the SPN and FMI numbers of errors that might falsely be displayed due to
the sharing of SUPPLY and RETURN wiring.
