18. LEFT CONTROL VALVE LEAKS AT TOP:
Worn packing.
Step 1.
Replace packing (para 2-32).
Step 2.
Circulating in bar at too great pump speed.
Pump speed should not exceed 160 rpm when circulating in bar.
19. INTAKE VALVE LEAKS:
Insufficient spring tension.
Step 1.
Tighten spring on operating shaft (para 2-30).
Step 2.
Scratched or scored valve.
Replace valve (para 2-30).
20. NOZZLE VALVE STUCK OR LEAKS:
Bar pressure seems to keep them tight.
Step 1.
To loosen, rap end of plug stem.
Valves scratched or scored.
Step 2.
Replace valve (para 2-38).
Insufficient clearance between plug and case.
Step 3.
Loosen adjusting nut.
