MALFUNCTION
TEST OR INSPECTION
CORRECTIVE ACTION
3. Inspect water-in-fuel wiring
1. If damaged, replace water-in-
harness connector W24 C1 for
fuel wiring harness (WP 0334,
damage.
Vol 2 and WP 0336, Vol 2).
2. If no damage is found, proceed
to next test.
4. Install fuse box (WP 0277, Vol
2).
5. Connect battery cables (WP
0357, Vol 2).
6. Turn keyless engine switch to
AUX position (TM 5-3895-385-
10), but do not start. Wait for 30
seconds.
7. Check active engine faults
1. If fault code SPN#97, FMI#3 is
screen for fault code SPN#97,
displayed, turn keyless engine
FMI#3.
switch to OFF position (TM 5-
3895-385-10), and proceed to
next test.
2. If fault code SPN#97, FMI#3 is
not displayed, turn keyless
engine switch to OFF position
(TM 5-3895-385-10), and
proceed to next malfunction.
8. Check inactive engine faults
1. If fault code SPN#97, FMI#4 is
screen for fault code SPN#97,
displayed, turn keyless engine
FMI#4.
switch to OFF position (TM 5-
3895-385-10), and proceed to
next test.
2. If fault code SPN#97, FMI#4 is
not displayed, turn keyless
engine switch to OFF position
(TM 5-3895-385-10), and
proceed to next malfunction.
9. Connect water-in-fuel wiring
harness W24 C1 to water-in-
fuel sensor (WP 0448, Vol 3,
Figure 45).
