TM 5-3895-373-342.45REPAIR AUGER/CONVEYOR CONTROL VALVE-D.ASSEMBLE - Continued.2.INSTALL SPOOL, TUBES, SLEEVES, ANDELECTRICAL COILS INTO VALVE BODY.Hydraulic oil can be moderatelyflammable and can be an irritant to theskin, eyes, and respiratory system.Avoid prolonged exposure. Eyeprotection and rubber gloves must beworn when working with hydraulic oil.a.Lubricate all parts with clean hydraulic oil.Be careful not to damage preformedpacking when sliding over threads.Sharp edges of thread can cut ordamage preformed packing. Damagedpreformed packing will cause leakageand affect performance.b.Install preformed packing (25) onto plug (24) andinstall into valve body (20). Tighten plug to 35Ib-ft (48 N•m).Do not drop spool or allow it to scrapeacross threads in valve body. Handlespool with care. Damage to surface ofspool can prevent it from workingproperly.c. Dip spool (23) and valve body (20) into cleanhydraulic oil. Install spool into valve body.d. Install retainers (22) and springs (21) onto spool(23) inside valve body (20).Tubes are fragile and easily dented. Useextreme caution when installingelectrical coils onto tubes. Dentedtubes may impair electrical coiloperation.e. Install tubes (18) onto valve body (20). Withcrowfoot wrench at a 90° angle to torquewrench, tighten tubes to 35 lb-ft (48 N•m).f.Slide electrical coils (19) onto tubes (18).Thread locking compound solvent cancause eye damage. Wear safetygoggles/glasses when using. Avoidcontact with eyes. If solvent contactseyes, flush eyes with water and getimmediate medical attention.g. Clean threads of tubes (18) with thread lockingcompound solvent.Thread locking compound can causeeye damage. Wear safetygoggles/glasses when using. Avoidcontact with eyes. If compoundcontacts eyes, flush eyes withwater andget immediate medical attention.h. Apply thread locking compound to threads oftubes (18).i. Install sleeves (17) and hex nuts (16) onto tubes(18). Tighten hex nuts to 12 lb-in (1,4 N•m).GO TO NEXT PAGE2-628
