DISASSEMBLE - Continued.

REMOVE SOLENOID ASSEMBLY.
Do not damage plastic nut upon
removal
from
solenoid
armature.
Plastic nut has a serrated bottom
surface and may be difficult to
remove. If too much force is used
during removal, plastic nut may be
damaged or deformed.
a.
Remove plastic nut (20). It may be
necessary to use a pair of pliers to break
the nut loose.
b.
Pull solenoid assembly (21) from high
speed shift valve.
c.
Remove preformed packings (22). Discard
preformed packings.
