TM 5-3895-373-102.23.2Paving Control Settings.a.Place the screed vibrator switch in up, "AUTO"position.b.Raise the flow gates to one half open position bymoving the left and right flow gate switches tothe up, OPEN, position.c.Verify flow gate position by checking left andright flow gate position indicator rods.d.Ignite the screed burners per paragraph 2.16 toheat the screed plates. Extinguish the mainscreed and extension screed burners afterapproximately ten minutes.e.Fill the hopper with paving material perparagraph 2.13.f.Place the feeder control switches on screedcontrol panels in the up, ON, position.g.Place the auger/conveyor switches on switchpanel in the down, "MAN", position.h.When the paving material reaches a level of onehalf to three quarters of the auger diameter,place the auger/conveyor switches on switchpanel in the center, OFF position.2-48
