Engine Removal -- Continued.
27. Remove clamp (Figure 11, Item 14), flat washer (Figure 11, Item 15), nut (Figure 11, Item 16), and oil drain
hose (Figure 11, Item 17) from post (Figure 11, Item 13).
28. Remove nut (Figure 11, Item 8), flat washer (Figure 11, Item 9), lock washer (Figure 11, Item 2), and nut
(Figure 11, Item 1) from bracket (Figure 11, Item 3) and mount vibration damper (Figure 11, Item 10). Discard
lock washers.
29. Remove two bolts (Figure 11, Item 4) and lock washers (Figure 11, Item 5) from bracket (Figure 11, Item 6)
and mounting point (Figure 11, Item 7). Discard lock washers.
30. Remove four bolts (Figure 11, Item 21), lock washers (Figure 11, Item 20), flat washers (Figure 11, Item 19),
and nuts (Figure 11, Item 12) from bracket (Figure 11, Item 18) and mounting point (Figure 11, Item 11).
Discard lock washers.
31. Remove two nuts (Figure 11, Item 23), lock washers (Figure 11, Item 22), and bracket (Figure 11, Item 3)
from engine. Discard lock washers.
WARNING
The engine assembly weighs 1200 pounds (lb) (519 kilograms (kg)). Use a suitable lifting device.
Failure to comply may cause injury or death to personnel.
CAUTION
Properly support the item being lifted. Failure to comply may cause damage to equipment.
Ensure wires, cables, hoses, and hardware in the engine compartment will not be damaged
while lifting engine from the Bituminous Material Paving Machine (BMPM).
NOTE
It will be necessary to move wires, cables, and hoses out of the way during removal and
installation of the engine.
32. Remove engine from BMPM, and place on engine stand.
34. Remove double hydraulic pump drive from engine (WP 0317).
