To avoid seriousinjury or death:Always wear safety glasses/gogglesat all times.Keep at least a B-C fire extinguisherwithin easy reach when working withfuel or on a fuel system.Do not work on fuel system whenengine is hot; fuel can be ignited by ahot engine.Post signs that read "NO SMOKINGWITHIN 50 FEET" when working withopen fuel lines or fuel tanks.a.Place machinery wiping towel below fuel liftpump.b.Loosen hose clamp (9) and remove fuel feedhose from fuel lift pump inlet.c.Place thumb over open end of fuel feed hoseand hold it over machinery wiping towel.d.Instruct another person to move fuel/waterseparator below tank fuel level.e.Allow trapped air to bleed from fuel lines andfuel/water separator. When full fuel stream flowsfrom hose, cap off flow with thumb.f.Install fuel feed hose to inlet of fuel lift pump.Tighten hose clamp (9).GO TO NEXT PAGE4-51
