To avoid seriousinjury or death: Always wear safetyglasses/goggles at all times.Keep at least a B-C fire extinguisherwithin easy reach when working withfuel or on a fuel system.Do not work on fuel system whenengine is hot; fuel can be ignited by ahot engine.WARNINGCompressed air used for cleaningpurposes will not exceed 30 psi (207kPa). Use only with effective chipguarding and personal protectiveequipment (goggles/face shield andgloves). Failure to take properprecautions may result in severeinjury or loss of vision.To gain access to fuel lines, open front top left accessdoor, front top right access door, left access door, andleft access cover per TM 53895-373-10. Remove engineaccess cover per paragraph 2.22.Close front top left access door, front top right accessdoor, left access door, and left access cover per TM 5-3895-373-10 and install engine access cover perparagraph 2.22.Check fuel line from tank to fuel/water separator, andfrom separator to fuel lift pump. Feed lines should notbe dented, crimped, cracked, or broken. Any deformitywill inhibit fuel flow.2-61
