Table 1. Right Track Fails To Move In Reverse Troubleshooting Procedures -- Continued.
MALFUNCTION
TEST OR INSPECTION
CORRECTIVE ACTION
2. If no leaks or damage is found,
proceed to next malfunction.
4. Loss of hydraulic pressure.
1. Attach hydraulic pressure tester
(WP 0442, Vol 3) to right
propulsion pump reverse test
port (WP 0449, Vol 3 Figure 4).
2. Start BMPM engine (TM 5-3895-
385-10).
3. Check hydraulic pressure at right
1. If hydraulic pressure reads a
propulsion pump reverse test
minimum of 1800 pounds per
port while attempting to move
square inch (psi) (12,410
right track in reverse using
kiloPascals (kPa)), turn keyless
joysticks (TM 5-3895-385-10).
engine switch to the OFF
position (TM 5-3895-385-10),
restore BMPM to original
condition, and proceed to the
next malfunction.
2. If pressure reads below 1800 psi
(12,410 kPa), turn keyless
engine switch to the OFF
position (TM 5-3895-385-10),
and proceed to propulsion pump
WARNING
The BMPM weighs 26,400 pounds (lb) (11,975 kilograms (kg)). Use a suitable lifting device and
suitable jack stands. Failure to comply may cause injury or death to personnel.
The tracks may move during this procedure. Lift and support both sides of the BMPM and support
BMPM by the frame. Allow for free movement of both left and right tracks. Failure to comply may
cause injury or death to personnel.
CAUTION
Properly support the BMPM. Failure to comply may cause damage to equipment.
5. Brake malfunction.
1. Remove track (WP 0420, Vol 2).
