TM 5-3895-373-34C.INSTALL Continued.2.INSTALL CYLINDER HEAD ASSEMBLY ONTOENGINE BLOCK.a.Place cylinder head gasket (67) onto engineblock (66).b.Attach chain assembly to front and rear liftingbrackets (64 and 65).c.Ensure that all wiring harnesses are out of theway when installing the cylinder head assembly.WARNINGTo avoid personal injury, use a hoistwhen lifting the cylinder headassembly which weighs more than110 lbs (50 kg). Ensure all chains andhooks are in good condition and areof correct capacity. Ensure hooksare positioned correctly.Keep clear of paving machine whenthe cylinder head assembly is beinglowered. The cylinder head assemblymay fall and cause serious injury ordeath.Do not allow the cylinder headassembly to swing while hanging bythe lifting device. The cylinder headassembly may strike personnel andcause serious injury.d.Lift cylinder head assembly (15) with overheadhoist. Position the cylinder head assembly sothat it is approximately 1/2 in. (13 mm) over thetop of the engine block.e.Place the longest of bolts (63) through thecylinder head assembly at bolt positions S16 andS22. Hand tighten bolts.f.Lower the cylinder head assembly onto theengine block and remove chain assembly fromfront and rear lifting brackets (64 and 65).g.Remove chain assembly from front and rearlifting brackets (64 and 65).GO TO NEXT PAGE2-73
