GROUND HANDLING. The following tasks
provide approved ground handling procedures for the
paving machine. The ground handling procedures
remain the same regardless of extreme cold, heat,
humidity, or dust.
Ground handling tasks include towing/pushing, jacking
(includes cribbing), screed removal and installation, and
hoisting.
Screed
removal
allows
easier
access
to
the
auger/conveyor and some screed components for
maintenance.
